Contributions: Assist providers for round 24 of the Kenyan Premier League

Let’s dive into the 11 goals scored in the Kenyan Premier League’s round 24, a more than 50% drop from the previous round. Having already aimed our laser on the goal-scoring lot, time to now see who contributed to the goals.

The round’s first match had no goal, a barren draw pitting Zoo FC at home to Sofapaka.

Bandari were in a routine 2 pm home tie against Kariobangi Sharks and duly dispatched the Nairobi side 1-0, a goal scored by Johana Mwita and assisted by Shaban Kenga.

Western Stima struck twice against Posta Rangers when power met the postman in Kisumu. First, Benson Omalla capitalized on a lucky rebound after Jairus Adira failed to deal with a Villa Oromcan flicked header. Villa would again release Baron Oketch for the second goal.

Wazito at home to Ulinzi Stars was another match seeing no goals.

Timothy Otieno went to 15 goals for the season, first, heading from close range a George Odhiambo cross and later on, making the most of a Farraj Odeny pass a 2-0 Tusker win over Chemelil Sugar.

The bulk of the goals happened at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC) where Mathare United played host to Kisumu All Stars. Clifford Alwanga was the star of the show- scoring once and assisting twice as United whipped the Kisumu boys 4-1. Kimani was the beneficiary of an Alwanga pass for 1-0. Next, Alwanga would score after being set up by Kinyanjui James.

Otieno Daniel Okoth was the next beneficiary of Alwanga’s generosity for 3-0. All Stars did pull one back, Eric Otieno striking from a free-kick. Tyson Otieno would, however, wrap up proceedings for United for 4-1, a goal assisted by Kinyanjui.

Kenya Commercial Bank out in Sudi Stadium were held to a barren draw by Nzoia Sugar FC.

The biggest clash of the round was the Mashemeji Derby pitting AFC Leopards at home to Gor Mahia at the MISC, but even this one- could only get us one goal. Boniface Omondi decided the tie, sending the ball home from an unattended Nicholas Kpkurui header.
