Corona Virus: FKF suspends football indefinitely

No local football matches will be played in the country after this weekend, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has confirmed.

Through a communique sent to media houses after the Ministry of Health confirmed on Friday 13 March the country’s first Corona Virus (COVID-19) case, FKF has issued its directive where it has suspended, indefinitely, all football matches from Monday 16 March.

The FKF Shield Cup that was set to take centre stage for round 16 this weekend as well as the National Super League (NSL) for round 28, will go on as planned but matches will now be played behind closed doors with only the players, match officials and medics allowed in the stadiums.
