The Kenya U15 national team is set to enter a new phase of its development, with the chance to take part in the Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) out in Spain.
The team landed in Spain on Tuesday 16 April ready for the tournament and head coach David Ouma is confident that as the players grow, they learn the intrigues of the game and will get the right mindset to perform at the high level.
After playing a number of friendly matches and being together in a home schooling project through the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Centers of Excellence initiative, Ouma believes the understanding they have will go a long way in their development.
“This team has been in camp for the better part of this year. We have also played a couple of friendly matches locally, which were aimed at getting the players into a competitive mindset.
“The players now have a chance to showcase their talents on a big stage and I am confident that they will give a good account of themselves,” Ouma said.
As the U15 team takes part in the tournament, the U17 side jetted back on Monday from the UNAF U18 tournament in Egypt while the senior national team is set to camp in Europe in preparation for the 2019 African Cup of Nations,.
