Round 12 of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) continued on Sunday 1 December with three matches played out across different venues in the country.
Zoo FC were the day’s biggest winners courtesy of a 3-0 win over Kisumu All Stars at the Kericho Green Stadium while at the Ruaraka grounds, hosts Tusker managed a slim 1-0 upset of Bandari. In Kisumu at the Moi Stadium, hosts Western Stima were held to a 1-1 draw by Sofapaka.
A tight game in Kericho was opened up by second half substitute Sammy Ggolola who came on in the second stanza with Zoo leading 1-0 to score and set-up another and secure maximum points for the hosts.
Derrick Anami had given Zoo the lead with a first half header after 30 minutes on the clock. Ggolola made it 2-0 in the 68th minute, 12 minutes after coming on before setting up Collins Neto for the final nail in the coffin with 10 minutes left to play.
The win which ends a run of two matches without a win for Zoo, sends them up one place and into 11th on the log with 13 points, five more than All Stars who remain third from bottom with eight points.
Elsewhere at the Ruaraka grounds in Nairobi, Bandari continued with their downward spiral as they suffered their fourth loss in five games at the hands of Tusker FC.
Humprey Mieno scored the lone goal 10 minutes after the restart to secure the three points that send the Brewers up to second on the standings with 21 points.
Bandari, who lie just a point above the regelation zone with 9 points, have not won in the league since matchday two where they beat Zoo 3-2 in Mombasa. Since then the only points they have managed have come in draws against Posta Rangers, AFC Leopards and the walkover dished to them by Chemelil Sugar on matchday 6.
