Kimanzi returns, Muguna, Kimani handed starts against Eritrea

The Kenya national team, Harambee Stars is set to take on Eritrea in the first semi final of the 2019 CECAFA Senior Challenge at the Lugogo Stadium in Kampala, Uganda on Tuesday 17 December. Head coach Francis Kimanzi will return to the touchline after a two match ban and has named the team for the clash set to start at 1.30pm EAT.

Midfielders Kevin Kimani and Kenneth Muguna are back in the team after being rested for the final group game as Kenya beat Zanzibar 1-0. They take up places occupied by Musa Masika and Daniel Sakari.

Oscar Wamalwa who has had an impressive show at the tournament so far, gets to lead the attack for the third straight game. He has scored twice at the tournament and has one assist.


Wamalwa has formed a good understanding with Bandari FC forward Hassan Abdalla and once again the two will be entrusted with tormenting the Eritrea forward line.

Joash Onyango will once again get to marshal the defence line, this time alongside Johnstone Omurwa, after partnering with Andrew Juma in the last game and Lawrence Juma also returns to replace Anthony Wambani.
