Kariobangi Sharks have been boosted by the availability of Fredrick Alushula and Kuol Chol ahead of their Betway Cup quarter-final match against Gor Mahia at Utalii grounds on Thursday.

The club announced that the two are back to full training after recovering from injury and will be available for selection as the team makes an assault on the Cup tournament.

Coach William Muluya said the two are a good addition to his squad though hitman Eric Kapaito remains unavailable.

“They are certainly a good addition to our squad ahead of the Gor Mahia match,” said the coach.

With Kariobangi Sharks having reached finals of the last three Cup tournament, Muluya says he is looking to get a good result against Gor Mahia.

“Our goal is to get a good result against Gor Mahia like we did against KCB in the round of 16. We are not thinking about the final at the moment,” he said.

The cup tournament is another avenue for Sharks to win silverware given that their title race has been thrown into doubt after picking two losses in a row.

It is a competition they are well versed with having won it three years ago and victory on Thursday is also likely to motivate them in their next league fixture.

Sharks have struggled without Kapaito who despite missing the last three matches still remains the leading goal scorer in the league.

But in the midfield, they have the ever reliable Patilla Omotto and with Alushula back to fitness, Sharks look ready to dispatch Gor Mahia.

It will not however be an easy affair. Gor Mahia are enjoying top form having won their last six matches in all competitions. It is a record that gives them a slight edge going into the match and they should take advantage of it.
